WychavonChalgrove Band made their debut apearance in the Second Section on Sunday 18th September at the Wychavon Festival of Brass.  Drawn number six of ten, the band gave a decent performance of their twenty-minute programme to adjudicator Dr Robert Childs, conductor of the current British Open Champions, Cory.  Opening with the up-tempo "Valero", the band also preformed "Share My Yoke", "Big Top", "New Colonial March" and finished with the final movement of Dean Goffin's "Rhapsody in Brass".

Come results time, the band were awarded ninth place. There were plenty of good bands there, and this gives us a better idea of where we can improve before the all-important area contest next March, where we will perform "Cross Patonce" by the late Goff Richards.  The band have two more competitions before then to get up to speed and bring the silverware back to Chalgrove.  Congratulations to Mossley Band on their victory.
